Jonah's FIRST Birthday and Auntie Lala's visit!

We had a little safari party to celebrate Jonah's first birthday!  

Here he is with his pet elephant, 'Ellie' (thanks Doc and Chris).

Jonah was so so so excited about the balloons (I realized he had never seen them before) and the colorful animal birthday banner I made for him.  Just fascinated by these things.

Guests... Auntie Lala, Auntie Melanie, and our new friends the Sullengers came to join in the festivities.  Left to right... Micah with her new buddy Hannah, Eli (no we don't make our guests cage their kids!), and Reagan the little tiger. :)

We were so excited to have Lauren visit... she had a great time playing with the kids and we enjoyed having her around.  We are so glad to be closer now. :)

Micah and Auntie Lala got along famously... played for hours... a good excuse for a grown up to play with dolls.  It doesn't get old... it's good for the kid at heart.

And of course the tradition of eating your first birthday cake with your hands...

Jonah also has come a long way with opening presents since Christmas... from chewing on bows to tearing open gifts with a few swift movements :)
